Capsule endoscopy
I'm undergoing a capsule endoscopy right now. I swallowed a tiny camera the size of a large vitamin this morning and have been wearing leads and a little backpack all day. It's a little uncomfortable but not as bad as not being able to eat for 24 hours. The camera has been sending pictures of my GI tract for the last 7 hours, I saw it in my stomach before leaving the hospital. It's a pretty interesting experience. I hope I get some of the photos. I'll have to update with the results in a few weeks.
With the sweatshirt over everything I look like I'm 7 months pregnant, but only on my left side.
The receiver is pretty heavy so I have to be careful not to move around too quickly or it'll pull the patches off.
They told me not to be alarmed if the camera comes out still flashing (I do not need to return it.) I have to avoid MRI machines, anyone else doing a capsule endoscopy and radio transmitters.

My blog, she is not dead
I hadn't realized it had been quite so long since I updated. Oops! I've been mostly working anyway so nothing exciting to report. Here are some photos though!

Family photos
My mom sent me some photos I've asked for. I love old family photos. The first is my Granpa's family, my Granpa is the youngest boy. This was so odd to me to see him as a little boy and great to see the whole family, especially my great grandparents. The photo is about 85 years old. It's a little surreal, his stories of his childhood are of a much different world than we live in today.

The next photo is of my grandparents wedding. It must have been winter because other photos show everyone in fur coats. You can't quite tell but Granpa's pants are pinstripes and we all know how much I love pinstripes. Again, a very different world. I asked Granpa this summer when he was married, he couldn't remember if it was '47 or '48 which I think is hilarious. It was just so long ago.

This photo has long been one of my favorites. It's me and Granpa teaching my brother to ride his tricycle. Adorable!

New home tour
I went for a walk today in the borough and took some photos. It's very quaint, there are a lot of shops and galleries and I don't even want to guess at what these houses cost. The borough is a peninsula so there's water from a lot of angles, which must be awesome.

Not for weak stomachs
My endoscopy last week went well. I have some irritation from reflux that is being treated now but I need further tests on gall bladder function. The sweet part is the photo of my esophagus and stomach they gave me. I'm so geeky, I was so happy to find it in my folder as I left the hospital. I think I'm going to frame it.

15% sexier?
I should really work on that algorithm. I said over a month ago I'd get to posting photos of myself but I hate taking photos of myself so I put it off. It's worse than writing my own letter of recommendation. But I've now lost 10 lbs so to mark that milestone I'll suck it up (ha!) and post some pictures. The first one is the most recent photo of me, I think, from around July, for comparison. My hair is also a lot longer. I found some 2-3 year old photos of me with really short hair that looks cute, I'll have to go back to that again sometime. Anywho, without further stalling, I present my healthifying.

Hmm, maybe it doesn't show.
